Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Childress). Everything went their way against the Olney Cubs on Saturday as the Childress Bobcats made off with an 18-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bobcats considering their one-run performance the match before.
Ansley Parr made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Parr was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Childress got a massive performance out of Kaylee Felton, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those runs were Felton's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Edmondson, who went a perfect2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple.
Childress kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Childress' record is now 2-3. As for Olney, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
Childress wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-1 victory against Electra on the 17th. Olney has also already played their next match (against Bryson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
