Recap: Versailles Tigers vs. Warsaw Wildcats

In what's become a running theme this season, the Versailles Tigers gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 99-73 margin over Warsaw. The victory was familiar territory for Versailles who now have four in a row.

Ryder Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 63 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Versailles' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Murdock, who dropped a double-double on 14 rebounds and ten assists.

Despite the loss, Warsaw still got an impressive performance from Logan Gemes, who scored 44 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gemes has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Luke Henderson, who scored ten points along with two steals.

Even though they lost, Warsaw were working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Versailles is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Warsaw, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Versailles won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tipton at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Versailles knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 20 games -- so hopefully Tipton likes a good challenge. As for Warsaw, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Butler at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Warsaw is coming into the contest with eight straight defeats at home, meaning Butler will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
