Baseball Game Preview: Coolidge Colts vs. Ballou Knights

The Coolidge Colts will head out on the road to square off against the Ballou Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Coolidge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of District of Columbia's top teams: Bell, who was ranked 13th at the time (Coolidge was ranked 16th). The Colts lost 10-1 to the Griffins on Monday. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Coolidge saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Idris Mouton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases. Another was Fransisco Leiva, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Ballou was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against McKinley Tech, falling 14-0.

Ballou's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Coolidge, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
