Basketball Game Preview: Lewis Falcons vs. Forest Park Foresters

Lewis hasn't had much luck against Forest Park recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lewis Falcons will look to defend their home court against the Forest Park Foresters at 3:45 p.m.

Lewis is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Patterson on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lewis was dealt a 51-14 defeat at the hands of Patterson. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Forest Park blew past Douglass, posting an 87-5 victory. The Foresters have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 41 points or more this season.

Forest Park's win came from a few key players Lewis will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was INDIA WATKINS, who went 7 for 11 on her way to 14 points and six steals. JOLIE HAMILTON was another key player, going 7 of 10 en route to 15 points and five rebounds.

Forest Park smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

Forest Park pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.4 points per game. As for Lewis, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
