Baseball Recap: DeKalb County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Livingston Academy last Tuesday, DeKalb County came back down to earth. DeKalb County lost 13-7 to the Watertown Purple Tigers on Thursday. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Purple Tigers from their previous meeting back in May of 2022.

DeKalb County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Watertown, the win keeps they at an undefeated 12-0.

Looking ahead, Watertown will be playing at home against Smith County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Watertown is on an eight-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), Smith County a five-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. DeKalb County will be paying especially close attention to Watertown's contest: after Watertown faces off against Smith County, they'll take on DeKalb County again at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
