MAKAYLA DUKES was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with eight assists and eight steals. DUKES is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least five every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of NAYDIA SHAW, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Several Stallions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hannah Reames, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Reames has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Mylasia Dennis was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, Lee Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kingstree only pulled down three offensive rebounds.
Kingstree pushed their record up to 18-3 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Lee Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kingstree will take on Cheraw at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kingstree's defense has only allowed 26.5 points per game this season, so Cheraw's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Lee Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against York Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lee Central's defense has only allowed 27.2 points per game this season, so York Prep's offense will have their work cut out for them.
