It was a good run, but Arvada West unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Fort Collins Lambkins by a score of 5-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 14-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Keegan Millikan was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Cameron Thornton also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Arvada West's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2-1. As for Fort Collins, their record now sits at 4-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arvada West will square off against Chatfield at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Fort Collins, they are taking a road trip to face off against Mountain View at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mountain Lions will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Lambkins surely won't give up without a fight.
