Basketball Game Preview: Hubbard Jaguars vs. Mildred Eagles

The Hubbard Jaguars are taking a road trip to take on the Mildred Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Hubbard is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Hubbard is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Italy on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Hubbard took a blow against Italy, falling 76-4. The Jaguars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-4.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mildred). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Wortham 56-12. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.

Mildred is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.5 points per game. As for Hubbard, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Hubbard suffered a grim 48-22 defeat to Mildred when the teams last played back in November of 2019. Can Hubbard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
