Basketball Recap: Indianapolis Arsenal Technical Takes a Loss

Indianapolis Arsenal Technical was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Indianapolis Bishop Chatard Trojans. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Indianapolis Arsenal Technical still got an impressive performance from Salmone Mitchell, who posted 17 points and six boards. Mitchell's big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elias Trotter, who scored 11 points.

Indianapolis Bishop Chatard found their leader in sophomore Ari Sahm, who on his way to 21 points and six rebounds. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for Sahm. Aj Priami also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Indianapolis Arsenal Technical's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Indianapolis Bishop Chatard, their win bumped their record up to 5-15.

Indianapolis Arsenal Technical and Indianapolis Bishop Chatard could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Indianapolis Arsenal Technical will take on Ben Davis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday down 186 places (200 vs. 14). Indianapolis Arsenal Technical has given up an average of 61.4 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. Meanwhile, Indianapolis Bishop Chatard (ranked 300th) will meet Franklin Central (ranked 107th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
