Softball Recap: Curtis Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Curtis came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over the New Utrecht Utes. Considering the Warriors have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Abigail Hynes, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Curtis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Curtis pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for New Utrecht, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Curtis will look to defend their home field on Thursday against New Dorp at 4:00 p.m. As for New Utrecht, they will welcome Port Richmond at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
