Basketball Recap: Centerville Takes a Loss

Centerville fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Archbishop Moeller on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 65-58 loss to the Archbishop Moeller Fighting Crusaders. While losing is never fun, the Elks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while the Fighting Crusaders are ranked eighth).

Centerville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Archbishop Moeller, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

Centerville will host Springboro at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Archbishop Moeller, they will head out to square off against Elder at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
