It was a good run, but Newberry unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Suwannee Bulldogs. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 1-0 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tavis Honeycutt was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Aiden Michaux was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Newberry's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Suwannee, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

Newberry and Suwannee should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Newberry (ranked 131st) will meet Crystal River (ranked 417th) at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th. Similarly, Suwannee will face off against Yulee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday up 377 places (89 vs. 466).
