Basketball Recap: Griggsville-Perry Comes Up Short

Griggsville-Perry came up into this matchup off a tough 30-point defeat last Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the South County Vipers by a score of 46-43 on Tuesday. The Tornadoes just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Despite the defeat, Griggsville-Perry saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brody Rush went 8-for-10 en route to 20 points. What's more, Rush also posted a 80% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Logan Fencik was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

Griggsville-Perry's loss dropped their record down to 11-16. As for South County, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-13 record this season.

Griggsville-Perry wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-51 defeat against Edinburg on the 13th. As for South County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-51 win against Lutheran on the 18th.
