Baseball Recap: Jackson-Olin Has No Trouble Against Bessemer City

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Woodlawn, Jackson-Olin was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Bessemer City Tigers with a sharp 12-2 victory. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Jackson-Olin got a massive performance out of DaTrell Evans, who scored three runs and stole five bases while going 1-for-2. Those three runs gave Evans a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Washington, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Jackson-Olin's victory bumped their record up to 4-19. As for Bessemer City, they are on a 26-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Jackson-Olin will head out on the road to take on Paul W. Bryant at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs are facing the Stampede at the right time seeing as the Stampede are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Bessemer City, they will host Center Point at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
