Baseball Recap: New Egypt Drops Season-High Score on Lakewood

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Egypt). Everything went their way against the Lakewood Piners on Monday as they made off with a 14-2 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Anthony Vidal was a standout: he got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Aidan Healy was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

New Egypt's victory bumped their record up to 4-6-1. As for Lakewood, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-8.

Coming up, New Egypt will head out to square off against Central Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakewood, they will be playing at home against Asbury Park at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
