Softball Recap: Hicks Extends Winning Streak to Six

Hicks waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the Rosepine Eagles.

Destiny Hickman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Jayde Wilbanks was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Hickman wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hicks kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matches.

Hicks' victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Rosepine, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hicks will welcome Elizabeth at 5:00 p.m. on March 25th. As for Rosepine, they will be playing at home against Pickering at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give Rosepine their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
