Basketball Game Preview: Midland Timberwolves vs. Woodland Warriors

The Midland Timberwolves will head out on the road to face off against the Woodland Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, Midland came up short against Lowpoint-Washburn and fell 38-29. While the Timberwolves didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 7-0 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Woodland had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against the Panthers as they made off with a 72-48 win. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Warriors had established a 22 point advantage.

Woodland is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Midland, they dropped their record down to 4-12 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Midland won a contest that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January of 2024, slipping by Woodland 42-41. Will Midland repeat their success, or does Woodland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
