Basketball Recap: IDEA Rundberg Comes Up Short

IDEA Rundberg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the KIPP Austin Collegiate Cardinals 39-12. The Rattlers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-4.

It was another big night for Genesis Robles, who went 9 of 20 en route to 25 points and eight steals for KIPP Austin Collegiate. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Robles has scored at least a third of KIPP Austin Collegiate's points. Aimee Santiago was another key player, putting up six points along with nine rebounds and six assists.

IDEA Rundberg's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for KIPP Austin Collegiate, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.

IDEA Rundberg will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Idea Pflugerville at 5:30 p.m. on January 28th. KIPP Austin Collegiate has already played their next match, a 59-0 win against IDEA Round Rock Tech on the 22nd.
