Football Recap: Hickory Grove Christian Takes a Loss

Despite a strong season so far, Hickory Grove Christian has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They came up short against the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors on Friday, falling 27-7. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 20-6 to the Warriors when the teams met back in October of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jaxson Lee threw for 81 yards on ten of 21 attempts. Noah Belote was his top target, picking up 44 receiving yards. On the ground, Nathan Dowdy rushed for 82 yards and one TD.

Hickory Grove Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7.

Coming up, Hickory Grove Christian will venture away from home to take on Harrells Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Metrolina Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
