Volleyball Recap: Mt. Gilead Indians vs. Loudonville Redbirds
After flying high against Gilead Christian on Monday, Mt. Gilead came back down to earth. The Indians lost 3-0 to the Loudonville Redbirds on Tuesday. The Indians have struggled against the Redbirds recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-14, 25-17.
Mt. Gilead's offense was headlined by Cassady Irwin and Lindsey Ayers, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Kenlee Trainer and her six assists.
Addison Wolford was nothing short of spectacular for Loudonville: she had 12 digs and five aces. That's the most aces Wolford has posted since back in September of 2024.
Mt. Gilead now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Loudonville, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Looking ahead, Mt. Gilead will welcome East Knox at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Loudonville, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Centerburg on the 21st.
