Baseball Game Preview: Lipscomb Academy Mustangs vs. Father Ryan Irish

For the second straight game, Lipscomb Academy will face off against Father Ryan. The Mustangs will face off against the Irish at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Lipscomb Academy needed a bit of extra time to put away Father Ryan. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Irish, sneaking past 4-3. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Irish recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

For Father Ryan's part, Hayden Yandell was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits.

At the plate, Michael Mascari and Leyton Stevens did some serious damage despite the final result: Mascari got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Stevens went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Father Ryan is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8. As for Lipscomb Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-5-1.
