Basketball Recap: Easton Valley Takes a Loss

Easton Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Marquette Defenders 82-42. While losing is never fun, Easton Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 288th, while Marquette is ranked 38th).

Easton Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Marquette, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Easton Valley will square off against Starmont at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. As for Marquette, they will face off against North Cedar at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Marquette's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
