Baseball Recap: Hammondsport Comes Up Short

Hammondsport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Avoca Central Tigers, falling 30-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lakers of the 18-8 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Hammondsport's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Avoca Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Hammondsport will host Whitman at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Avoca Central, they will challenge Addison at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
