Softball Recap: Spencer County Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four matches, Spencer County finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They lost 22-2 to the Anderson County Bearcats. The Bears have struggled against the Bearcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Spencer County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Hunt, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Hunt is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Spencer County's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Anderson County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spencer County will face off against Christian Academy-Louisville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears are facing the Centurions at the right time seeing as the Centurions are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Anderson County, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Collins at 6:00 p.m.
