Basketball Recap: Blue River Valley's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tri, Blue River Valley was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They secured a 42-36 W over the Union Rockets. The win was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Blue River Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daisy Souther, who posted 11 points. The dominant performance gave Souther a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Holly Polston, who earned ten points.

When it comes to explaining why Union lost, don't look at Glory Ellis. Despite the final result, she went 10 for 15 on her way to 23 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. That was a full 63.9% of Union's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzy Ogden, who put up eight points in addition to nine boards and six steals.

Blue River Valley's victory bumped their record up to 4-14. As for Union, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
