Softball Recap: Whitko Wildcats vs. Wabash Apaches
Whitko extended their losing streak to six on Wednesday, dropping them down to 3-14. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wabash Apaches. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Apaches apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.
Meredith Hindbaugh was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
As for Wabash, their record is now 9-7. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the contest before.
On Wabash's side, Kalli Davis made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched. Davis has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elli Hall, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. MyKenzie Renn was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whitko will venture away from home to challenge Heritage at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wabash, they will head out to square off against Elwood at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
