Softball Game Preview: Thousand Oaks Lancers vs. Oaks Christian Lions

Thousand Oaks hasn't had much luck against Oaks Christian recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lancers are taking a road trip to square off against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. Thousand Oaks is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Thousand Oaks took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Calabasas with a sharp 12-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Coyotes: they've now won four in a row.

Madison Jauregui was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophia Munhall, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Thousand Oaks always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calabasas only posted an OBP of .056.

Meanwhile, Oaks Christian entered their tilt with Newbury Park on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 9-4.

Thousand Oaks' record now sits at 12-5-1. As for Oaks Christian, their record is now 9-3.

Thousand Oaks couldn't quite finish off Oaks Christian when the teams last played two weeks ago and fell 11-9. Can the Lancers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
