Softball Recap: Hernando Christian Academy Comes Up Short

If Hernando Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 18-3 takedown of Cedar Creek Christian last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions lost 22-6 to the Seven Rivers Christian Warriors on Tuesday. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Piper Gill was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing five bases while going 2-for-3. Charlotte Merenda was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Hernando Christian Academy dropped their record down to 1-12 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-16 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hernando Christian Academy will head out to square off against First Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against Seffner Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
