Post Falls had won three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 5-8 to make it four. They walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Lakeland Hawks. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 16-8 win the Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.
Lexie McCarroll was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. McCarroll was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.
In other batting news, McKenna Zimmerman and Rylan Morrison did most of the damage at the plate: Zimmerman went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Morrison went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was Morrison's first of the season. Summer Dan was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Post Falls kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
As for Lakeland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly five runs.
On Lakeland's side, Reagan Masters spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and eight unearned) runs on ten hits.
On the hitting side, Jaiden Corbey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ada Blakemore, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Post Falls beat Lakeland by a score of 9-7 later that day.
