Basketball Recap: Villa Grove Comes Up Short

Villa Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Cumberland Pirates, falling 69-28. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 664th, while the Pirates are ranked 296th).

Villa Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Cumberland, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-9.

Villa Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cumberland, they will challenge Dieterich at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
