Baseball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Snaps 11-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Cornerstone Christian dropped their record down to 23-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's 11-game streak of wins at home. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sinton Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in March.

As for Sinton, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 21-5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games.

For Sinton's part, the team relied heavily on Kash Wood, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Wood a new career-high. Clay Mitchell also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Cornerstone Christian and Sinton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Warriors will square off against Bo Porter Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (52 vs. 454). Meanwhile, Sinton (ranked 61st) will meet Calhoun (ranked 555th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
