Softball Recap: Plano West Comes Up Short

Plano West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 9-3 to the Rockwall Yellowjackets. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Kaaya Mehta made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Even though they lost, Plano West hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts in three consecutive games.

Plano West's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Rockwall, their victory bumped their record up to 3-11.

Coming up, Plano West will take on Melissa at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rockwall, they will be taking part in a tournament against Reedy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
