Softball Recap: Zeeland West Drops Highest Score of Season Against Holland

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Zeeland West). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Holland Dutch a 24-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Dux as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Megan Strabbing was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-2. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Maddi Veersma was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Zeeland West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .788. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Zeeland West pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Holland, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.
