Softball Recap: Angleton's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Angleton entered their tilt with Iowa Colony on Tuesday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. Everything went their way against the Iowa Colony Pioneers as they made off with an 8-0 victory.

Not much got past Rylee Church, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Iowa Colony off the board. What's more, Church gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ambi Linscombe, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Alyssa Orozco also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Angleton pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Iowa Colony, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Looking ahead, Angleton will face off against Santa Fe at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Iowa Colony, they will square off against Ball at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Iowa Colony is facing Ball at the right time seeing as Ball is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
