Softball Recap: Texas Comes Up Short

After flying high against Jacksonville on Tuesday, Texas came back down to earth. The Tigers fell 10-6 to the Lufkin Panthers on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost six in a row.

Cara Williams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney King, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.

Texas' loss dropped their record down to 18-8-1. As for Lufkin, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-4.

Coming up, Texas will take on Melissa at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their 29th straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. Lufkin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
