Basketball Recap: Pasco Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Hernando Christian Academy on Monday, Pasco came back down to earth. The Pirates had to suffer through a 72-24 loss at the hands of the Wesley Chapel Wildcats. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 100-43 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Wesley Chapel's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Peat, who went 7-for-12 en route to 21 points and four steals. Those four steals gave Peat a new career-high. Tj Aguilar was another key player, putting up 17 points and eight steals.

Pasco's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Wesley Chapel, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pasco won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Weeki Wachee at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates' defense better be ready for this one: the Hornets have averaged an impressive 64 points per game this season. As for Wesley Chapel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Berkeley Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
