Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Rossville

Rossville waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took down the Seeger Patriots 61-47. For the Hornets, this counts as revenge for the 58-55 victory the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Rossville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Skiles, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 19 points and five boards. The matchup was Skiles' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cooper Dunn, who posted ten points and five assists.

Seeger's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Macyn Hughes, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Winchester, who went 5 for 6 en route to 11 points.

Rossville is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Seeger, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Rossville will face off against Eastern at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rossville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Eastern likes a good challenge. As for Seeger, they will challenge Benton Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Seeger is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.1 points per game this season.
