Softball Recap: Lake Highland Prep Comes Up Short

Lake Highland Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 11-0 to the Orangewood Christian Rams. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 back in March.

Lake Highland Prep's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Orangewood Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Lake Highland Prep and Orangewood Christian could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Highlanders will challenge Cardinal Mooney at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (449 vs. 221). Meanwhile, Orangewood Christian (ranked 295th) will meet Geneva (ranked 99th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
