Softball Recap: Schoolhouse Prep's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

It's playoff time, and Schoolhouse Prep had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Berean Christian Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Wolfpack as they're now sitting on nine straight.

Samantha Torres looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Valeria Vazquez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Angelly Benitez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Schoolhouse Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .828. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Schoolhouse Prep pushed their record up to 14-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Berean Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Schoolhouse Prep will face off against Academy for Innovative Education at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berean Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
