Baseball Game Preview: Biggs Wolverines vs. Williams Yellowjackets

Biggs is 9-1 against Williams since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Biggs will host Williams at 2:00 p.m. Biggs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.

Williams will be up against a hot Biggs squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Biggs was the clear victor by a 16-6 margin over Weed on Friday. Considering the Wolverines have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Collin Beck made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brady Smith, who scored four runs and stole six bases while going 1-for-4. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brayden Martin, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Biggs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Williams played against Esparto last Tuesday and won via forfeit.

Biggs' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Williams, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Biggs took their victory against Williams in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 18-2. Will Biggs repeat their success, or does Williams has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
