The Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. While losing is never fun, Ridgeland-Hardeeville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Dreher is ranked 102nd).
When it comes to explaining why Ridgeland-Hardeeville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Poncie Capers. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points. Capers hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Kalen Riddles, who scored three points.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Dreher, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Barnwell at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Dreher, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orangeburg-Wilkinson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
