The Alabama high school football season enters Week 6. The AHSAA playoffs are scheduled to start Nov. 6. Here's what you need to know heading into and during this weekend's prep football slate in the Cotton State.

Week 5 Top Performances

Sophomore running back carried the ball 36 times for 291 yards and a touchdown in a 28-14 win over Talladega.

Senior defensive back had 16 tackles and eight tackles-for-loss (including five sacks) in a 43-20 win over the Freedom Cowboys.

Sophomore receiver caught four passes for 199 yards and three touchdowns in a 48-0 win over Red Level.



Senior defensive lineman nocthed 11 tackles and six tackles-for-loss (including five sacks) in a 33-12 win over Horseshoe Bend.

Junior quarterback completed 17-of-23 passes for 325 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-21 win over Hewitt-Trussville.

* Jaylen Nobles, Slocomb
Junior running back carried the ball 12 times for 194 yards and three touchdowns and caught three passes for 47 yards and two touchdowns in a 48-0 win over Houston Academy.

Senior receiver caught seven passes for 167 yards and three touchdowns in a 33-7 win over Park Crossing.

Freshman quarterback completed nine-of-10 passes for 194 yards and five touchdowns in a 41-7 win over Beulah.
