Baseball Game Preview: Roosevelt Eagles vs. Littlefield Wildcats

The Roosevelt Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Littlefield Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Roosevelt has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 27.

Last Saturday, Roosevelt didn't have quite enough to beat Muleshoe and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Littlefield got the win against Muleshoe on Tuesday by a conclusive 9-3. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

Littlefield is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Roosevelt suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Littlefield when the teams last played back in March. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
