Basketball Recap: Chiles Comes Up Short

Chiles fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Community Leadership Academy on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Community Leadership Academy Lions by a score of 71-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (60), the Timberwolves still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Chiles lost, don't look at Isaiah Bundrage. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 18 to rack up 30 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Bundrage has posted since back in December of 2024. Gabe Parks was another key player, putting up 15 points and six boards.

Community Leadership Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Brown, who went 8 for 15 en route to 19 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Rayner Lona, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds.

Chiles' defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Community Leadership Academy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-11.

Chiles wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 87-72 loss against Lincoln on the 31st. As for Community Leadership Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-41 win against Tallavana Christian on the 3rd.
