Volleyball Recap: Metea Valley Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Metea Valley and Naperville North, and Naperville North kept the tradition alive. The Mustangs fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Huskies earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Metea Valley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-18, 25-22.

Metea Valley dropped their record down to 15-15 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Naperville North, their win bumped their record up to 11-16.

Coming up, Metea Valley will venture away from home to take on Naperville Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs are facing the Redhawks at the right time seeing as the Redhawks are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Naperville North, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Waubonsie Valley at 5:30 p.m.
