Maury had won eight straight road games dating back to last season and Sawyer Richard did his part to make it nine on Wednesday. The Commodores walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Norcom Greyhounds for which the team can thank Richard, who had 21 digs and three aces. Richard is also crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 18 every time he's taken the court this season.

Maury had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-17, 25-14, 25-6.

Maury's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Norcom, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Maury is set to face off against their familiar foe Norview at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Norcom will square off against rival Booker T. Washington at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
