Basketball Recap: South Takes a Loss

South lost against Riverside back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The South Rebels were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 31-30 to the Riverside Beavers. The Rebels just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Despite the loss, South still got an impressive performance from Maddie Luciano, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Isabella, who had seven points.

South's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Riverside, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South will be taking part in a tournament against John F. Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on February 15th. Riverside will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Mayfield at 7:00 p.m. on February 19th. Mayfield will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Riverside surely won't give up without a fight.
