Softball Recap: Parkwood Wolf Pack vs. Anson Bearcats
Parkwood barely beat Anson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Parkwood Wolf Pack put the hurt on the Anson Bearcats with a sharp 17-6 win on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wolf Pack needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Chloe Purgason looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

On the hitting side, Grayce Marvel was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Geneva Yow was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
The victory got Parkwood back to even at 1-1. As for Anson, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkwood will head out to challenge Weddington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Weddington will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Parkwood surely won't give up without a fight. As for Anson, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Anson Bearcats take on Mount Pleasant Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. They have given up an average of 14.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
