Baseball Game Preview: Dixon Dukes & Duchesses vs. Sterling Golden Warriors

The Dixon Dukes & Duchesses will square off against the Sterling Golden Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Dixon has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 1st.

On Thursday, Dixon came up short against Sycamore and fell 6-3.

Dixon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Feit, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Sterling got themselves on the board against Davenport North on Wednesday, but Davenport North never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Wildcats.

The result came thanks to Eli Penne's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sterling is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-19 otherwise.

Dixon now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Sterling, their victory bumped their record up to 13-20.
