Basketball Game Preview: Elkhorn South Storm vs. Benson Bunnies

The Elkhorn South Storm are taking a road trip to challenge the Benson Bunnies at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Elkhorn South's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.

On Saturday, Elkhorn South came up short against Bellevue East and fell 70-59. The Storm have struggled against the Chieftains recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Benson's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were dealt an 82-39 loss at the hands of Millard North. While losing is never fun, the Bunnies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 197th, while the Mustangs are ranked 14th).

Benson's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Elkhorn South, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Elkhorn South was able to grind out a solid victory over Benson in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 71-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Elkhorn South since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
